Speak LIFE.

Ahhh, did you not need to hear that? That message scrolled into my life right on time so I just had to share it with you. Do you realize the strength and power of encouragement? Whether you’re giving the encouragement or your on the receiving end, it’s just so entirely healthy for everyone involved. I also want to shed some light on the beauty of supporting and uplifting each other.

Think of the last time you were genuinely complimented… isn’t it beautiful that no matter how recently you received that compliment when you just recollected it, it still made you feel amazing. Complimenting each other. Supporting each other. Uplifting one another. That’s what we need more of.

You should give compliments away as frequently as you give away smiles (which I’m hoping is quite often)–to people you know and those that you don’t. Speak positively. That’s where most of us go wrong. You don’t have to only compliment the outer appearances of a person. If you can look at someone and not think of one thing you can genuinely compliment them about… you could use a little self-reflection time. I know one of the things I ask myself at night is if I made an effort to positively affect someone’s life that day. Speaking positivity into someone’s life is more powerful than we might know. Speaking negativity into someone’s life is just as powerful. It’s about being big enough to only want to speak life towards those in and around your life. If you don’t have anything positive to say, don’t say anything at all. You know the saying; it’s that simple. I can’t stand to learn that there are individuals who actually take pleasure in throwing shade, for a lack of better words.

One thing I never take joy in hearing is when people ask me why I feature so many people I know… I’m always left feeling like, why wouldn’t I feature the people I know? I already know so many amazingly talented people, so I really never understand why it would even seem more plausible for me to support ‘talented’ people I don’t know at all before giving credit to those I know first?–but someone had to open my eyes to the fact that there are some people who don’t know how to or understand how to support others. If you know anyone who is putting there efforts towards a personal endeavor, a dream–anything they’re literally putting their time into. Do your best to encourage them. If you’re lucky, their drive may rub off onto you. Our friends and loved ones undervalue themselves because we forget to remind them of their true value.

Take it from me. You’re something special. Share your light with me. Let me share your story. Email me. Tweet me. Find me on IG. Connect with me. If you need the encouragement or support… you’ve found it. Positive vibes only.

All my love, dear reader.

-Isis.
