Here is a chance for you and I to be able to come together to talk about entrepreneurship and following your dreams, specifically. I’m really hoping this part of The Goddess Column will mean a lot to you because it absolutely means a lot to me to provide these insights for you. On top of writing an article for you each week, I’ll also record a short video as well. Here is the video for our topic today:
This week in business, we are focusing on 3 Key Factors to Entrepreneurship:
Surround yourself with supportive people.
When you have a dream of entrepreneurship, it is VITAL to keep supportive people around you. You may feel like you hear that all the time, but I want to be a little more specific about it. When I say supportive I am talking about a person who will be open and honest with you about what it is you’re trying to pursue. A supportive person is capable of praising you, offering constructive criticism that will allow you to grow, and also knowing how to tell you when things just aren’t working out the way you think they are. Again, this is an incredibly important detail behind following your dreams and pursuing entrepreneurship.
Do it EVERY day.
I feel that I am always, always, ALWAYS encouraging you to practice your craft EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.–no matter what. If you do not allow yourself to practice your craft daily, you will allow yourself to get lazy and please take it from me… you’ll skip one day and then you’ll find yourself skipping weeks! It’s horrible! I understand that it takes a great deal of discipline and at times it can even be a little discouraging to put so much effort into something that you’re not even certain will pay off. But I promise you, if you just continue to work towards that goal every day, victory will come.
Gain the knowledge to do what you love to do.
I want to be more specific about this factor as well. I know that we hear this a lot as well, but I mean really gaining the knowledge to do what you love to do. This means going beyond perfecting what goes into doing your craft, but also gaining the knowledge of entrepreneurship, marketing, and everything else that you’ll need to know to get your business or craft off the ground and profitable. Over the years since beginning The Goddess Column, I’ve had to teach myself things from web development to Photoshop to marketing skills to managing small businesses. With learning all of that, I AM STILL LEARNING. Just like you should practice and develop your craft every day, you need to seek knowledge on how to make your dream a reality and more importantly, a SUCCESS.
I hope this was helpful and I’ll see you next week for more #CoffeeTalkTuesday!
