Okay, ladies… it’s time to have a real candid adult conversation. Have you ever entered a public restroom stall and almost lost your breath because of a foul odor that was left behind by a fellow sister? Well let me tell you… whenever I encounter this I immediately wonder did they not smell that? and I want to give them a few tips on how to keep that situation maintained! I mean, I can’t even begin to tell you how very important it is to take care of your treasure! There is absolutely no excuse for poor hygiene and this is an area of our lives that cannot be compromised! If you have a daughter, this article can be very essential to her growth! So today I wanted to share a few of my personal favorites with you that will keep you feeling and smelling great.
Let’s just call it our Va Jay Jay survival kit:
Summers Eve Douche- These are good to use after the completion of your cycle. One important thing to remember though is that douches should not be used too frequently as they will remove useful bacteria from the vaginal area which will make you a lot more prone to infection
Vagisal Feminine Wash (PH Balance) This feminine wash is very helpful in keeping the PH levels in tact. (It also has a really nice light & fresh scent) Whenever PH levels are off it is a battlefield for infection and odor.
Summer’s Eve Deodorant Spray- This is not to mask odor but yet to give you a nice clean scent that lasts all day. Always hold the can at least 8-10 inches away from external vaginal area because you wouldn’t want it to go inside and possibly cause infection. (If you’re not comfortable with the spray coming in contact with your skin, no worries- just spray a little on the seat of your panties.
Vagisil Deodorant Powder- This is a great tool to use during the summer if you tend too perspire a lot. No need to go into overload just sprinkle a little on the seat of your panties to keep you dry and fresh throughout the day
Sally Hansen Brazilian Bikini At Home Wax Kit: The pubic hair has got to go! This can be very debatable among some people, but in my opinion it’s not really an option. You will notice that you will feel a lot cleaner and sweat a lot less, which means LESS ODOR! For those of you that are not comfortable using an at home kit, you can also remove the hair by shaving. If this is a better option for you be sure to get an aloe cream to smooth over afterwards to combat irritation.
And finally, be sure maintain a healthy lifestyle by eating right and exercising. A poor diet can lead to many health issues, with bad vaginal odor definitely being one of them. Drinking the proper amount of water can help flush toxins out of your body, so if you’re noticing an unpleasant odor down there, you may want to try increasing your water intake. But remember it’s all about being proactive! Don’t wait until you notice an unpleasant smell to handle these things. Also, keep a healthy open relationship with your gynecologist (I know sometimes this topic can be an embarrassing one for some women) But if you notice anything that’s abnormal (Change in discharge, odor, etc.) pay your doctor a visit immediately! And lastly if you have any products that you think are great to use, please share, I would love to hear from you!
Until next time… muah!
