Z is for Zeal 2

It shows through us before we can squeeze a single word from our mouths.

It is the twinkle in our eye. It is the spunk in our attitude. The pep in our walk. The strength of our smile. The light of our spirit. It is what creates the rhythmic beat our heart finds throughout the course of life. Some of us are able to figure it out earlier than others, but eventually most of us are able to identify at least one thing that our soul just cannot live without doing. It’s the reason you were placed on Earth. If you ask me, it’s the key to truly living life freely and happily. I’m talking about your zeal for life.

Even after identifying this gift, not everyone is able to convince themselves of following that calling over their life. Those are the people I want to reach out to with this entry. For a long time, I was stuck in that same boat. I allowed the opinion of others to stop me from dreaming as vividly as I possibly could. I allowed them to transfer their thoughts of doubt and negativity to me.

How will you make money from writing?

You spent all that time in school and now you want to be a writer?

Why don’t you just work full-time and write on your free time?

Ultimately, I allowed them to stop me from believing in myself, my purpose, and my passion wholeheartedly. If you feel like you’re in a similar place, don’t be discouraged. I didn’t realize my purpose right away. I had undergone three very traumatic, near death experiences and it wasn’t until the third one that I understood that until I accepted what God had for me, these types of situations were likely to continue to occur. Instead of listening to my heart, I listened to other people who had no control over my life or what I should be doing with it. After that realization, I promised myself that I would find and focus on the purpose that the Lord had destined me to walk in and that I would walk in it daily–no matter what. Again, it took me a while to figure it out and I didn’t figure it out alone, but now that I’ve got it… I’m never letting it go. I will walk in it daily. I want the same thing for you. I’m thankful for finding my purpose in life. My purpose in life is to motivate those who need to be motivated. My purpose is to be an example for my generation. My purpose is to encourage others to follow their dreams. My purpose is to have undying faith in the Lord and in myself.

What is your purpose in life?  We all have our story and yours is one to be heard. Don’t let the assumptions and opinions of others silence you. Find your zeal and shout it from the mountaintops because it is the reason why you’re here. Don’t forget that.

You can do this. You can breakaway from those burdens holding you back. You’re strong enough to build yourself up. If I can do it; so can you. As tears run down my face right now, I am filled with inevitable joy just for being proud to be Isis Nezbeth. Sure, I’ve made a million and one mistakes and I’m still working on myself, but when I leave this Earth, I’ll know that I gave fulfilling my destiny my all. When you finish reading this, I want you to take a moment to think about and identify the things you are passionate about. What brings you true joy? If happiness were the currency, what kind of work would make you rich? Who do you want to be remembered as to the world? What ways do you plan on making a difference?–because YOU can make a difference in the world. What do you feel is your purpose in life and what is stopping you from walking in it? Answer those questions and really take the answers seriously. If it helps, writ the answers out and put them somewhere that you can see them daily. Figure out how to start living the answers to those questions and START TODAY. You won’t regret it.

I promise that you’re here for a reason. You have a purpose in life and it’s calling for you. You deserve to live a life of divine happiness and freedom. No matter what those passions are and what purpose you’re here to fulfill, you are completely capable of accomplishing just that. Don’t think about work. Don’t think about what others will say. Don’t think about anything but what your heart is saying to you. This life that we live is not promised to us in any way, shape, form, or fashion. There is no need to settle for a life you’re not happy with. Do everything with passion or not at all.

I believe in you and I cannot wait to hear your story.

Peace and light, dear reader.

As I was reading the beginning paragraphs of this post, I was like “me too” after every sentence. It’s always nice to have a reminder that helps you to prioritize your own happiness and purpose. “If happiness were the currency, what kind of work would make you rich?”<–Words to live by. Thank you. #LayersTourAtoZ #giveaway
